As a motivation to the upcoming movie "Le Mans" Steve McQueen partnered with Peter Revson in a Porsche 908/2 at the 1970 12hr Sebring race. Their #48 car secured the outright second position in the last 30 minutes of the race against a field of the world greatest cars piloted by the best drivers. While this was itself something special the truly amazing detail was Steve McQueen drove with a broken foot in a cast which also had to be wrapped in asbestos cloth to protect it from heat during racing. The number #48 car was later modified to hold a camera for actual race footage shot a Le Mans for the movie.
