Product Information

THIS DIECAST MODEL CAR IS MANUFACTURED BY ERTL.

Malcolm Durham started drag racing on the late 1950's, and he was synonomous with record setting Chevrolet products, the most noteworthy which included a rather potent 1963 "Z-11" Chevrolet lightweiight factory car.

However, the car that really put Malcolm Durham on the map was his Z-11-POWERED 1964 Chevelle match racer which was one of eastern seaboard's quickest and fastest "GM Independent" match race cars. For two years Durham raced his Chevelle all up and down the eastern seaboard, and gained quite a following with its wheel stand antics, and rosin-burning starting line rituals.

And the quicker and faster the Chevellle got, the more it evolved. By early 1966, the car sported an altered wheelbase, candy blue paint, a fuel burning 427 Chevrolet "Rat Motor, and, due to the fact that Durham was running in the low 10-second zone (best of 10.18-138.12,) A BIG parachute on the back bumper!

Of course Durham would go on to become a full-fledged funny car and pro stock racer competing well into the late 1970's. Malcolm Durham and his two sons are still actively dray racing. And when they're not at the track, they can be found at the family business, Supercar Engineerling located in Washington D. C.
